Fina Antwerp Olefins
A joint venture with ExxonMobil Chemical, Fina Antwerp
Olefins processes naphtha, butane and propane from the
Total refinery into base chemicals: ethylene, propylene,
butadiene and benzene. These monomers are used
either in the Antwerp and Feluy plants for polymer
production, or sold to the chemical industry, which
converts them into a variety of everyday products.

Common Ground®: commitment through dialogue
An initiative of openness and community relations launched in 2001, Common
Ground® endeavours to establish lasting relationships of trust between
industrial sites and their immediate environment: local residents, the authorities, associations, local press, etc. With this in mind, a variety of actions aimed at
improving mutual understanding are organised on a regular basis on the Feluy
and Antwerp sites, e.g. open days, meetings, newsletters, and plant tours.
This commitment to establishing a regular dialogue with the local community
is also in evidence at the Antwerp refinery which has also undertaken
to strengthen its relations with the local population through community
committees. |
