 |
In Belgium, Total conducts its activities in refining/marketing, chemicals, and research.
Brussels is home to the international headquarters of Petrochemicals, the
headquarters of Total Belgium, and the Refining Nord Europe Division Benelux
countries, United Kingdom, Germany). The Brussels headquarters also house the
functions related to the representation of a world-scale industrial and commercial
Group in the capital of Europe.
In Chemicals, in addition to a fertiliser production plant (Rosier) and the marketing
of glues and adhesives (Bostik Belux) as well as industrial rubber (Paulstra
Silentbloc), Belgium boasts two of Total Petrochemicals’ largest petrochemical
facilities, in Antwerp and Feluy. Either adjacent to or onnected by pipeline
with Total’s Antwerp refinery, they form with the refinery one of the hubs of the
Group’s integrated industrial base in Europe.
Based in Feluy, close to the polymer plant, the Total Petrochemicals Research
Feluy R&D Centre pools catalysis expertise for petrochemicals and refining, and in the
development of new technologies and new polyolefins.
Refining Nord Europe operates the Antwerp and Vlissingen refineries in particular,
and is responsible for supplying the Benelux markets.
Petroleum Marketing is operated by Total Belgium which ensures the distribution,
in various markets, of a wide range of petroleum and specialty products for use
by consumers and industry alike.
Finally, as regards the development of renewable energies, Total has launched,
through Photovoltech, the production of photovoltaic cells for professional
applications and for household use in the solar energy sector.
